Cycling Jersey/Brands for Tall and Slim

Hello,
I would like the forums help on finding cycling clothes that fit me. I am 31M, 6’4" and 150 lb (140-155) and have not been able to find a cycling jersey that fits, they are all too short. I have purchased five (5) and returned four (4) of them while keeping one that was also too short but passable, I have listed these below. I am an injured runner and currently have 31" Waist and 36" Chest. I believe I have a long torso compared to others at 6’4". I am currently slightly heavier than normal due to injury/lack of training and believe I will slim up once I can run more/ride outside more.

Gorewear - Signal Jersey Mens in Small (too short)
Gorewear - Distance Jersey Mens in Small (too short)
Castelli Jacket - Castelli Men’s Squadra Stretch Jacket in Small (too short and too tight)
Castelli Jersey - Men’s Entrata VI Jersey in Small (too short but not so short that I can’t use it, ie belly shirt standing but passable on the bike)
Specialized - Men’s HyprViz SL Air Jersey in Small (too short)

All but the Catelli Jacket fit pretty well around my shoulders but I could have used ~5 inches longer. I have searched slowtwitch/ reddit/ bike forums/ google but have found very few people at my size. The ones who were only had suggestions on what to get and no results on whether the suggestions actually fit. I have tried direct messaging them with no luck.

Suggestions I’ve read include Rapha Pro Team line, Castelli Aero Race line, Endura Pro SL line, Aerotech. Also in general I’ve read that Italian brands are taller/slimmer.

I reached out to black bibs and they suggested ‘Black Bibs Ultimate Long Shoulder Strap’ and ‘Small Tall Jersey’. I also reached out to La Passione and they replied medium size, though their inventory looks limited as it looks like they are restructuring. I am not convinced that the extra 2-3 inches on the rare ‘tall’ option for jerseys would even fit (aerotech/black bibs).

I am trying to: 1) Not break the bank, 2) Have clothes long enough and appropriately tight, 3) Not buy a bunch of different clothes and have to return them. Given my experience so far anything I buy I would want to be able to return. Thank you for the help, or at least the condolences.

Hi Sam,

I’m the same height as you and at the moment a fair bit heavier but at my race weight I get down to 71kg or about 156lbs so in the same ballpark. I agree that it’s tough to find kit that fits and for the most part I just put up with jerseys that are too short. I pretty much only wear Castelli aero race bib shorts size M which actually come up alright in terms of leg length but the bib straps all have holes in them from being stretched to the max!

I have owned Endura tall fit in the past but their sizing has always been a bit awkward to me and a medium tall came up really baggy, even in a race fit. To be fair that was a good few years ago and maybe has been improved over time.

One brand that I’ve found to be pretty good is Nopinz. My club uses them for our kit and they do a tall option which works quite well for me. They do tend to be a bit more on the expensive side unfortunately.

Good luck and if you do find anything good, let me know please!

Cuore team shops will always do expanded arm/torso/leg length on their kits. They have “public team shops” like cuore amore

Im a similar build (6-3, 165, 31 waist and 41 chest) and have been having good luck with Craft sports for cold weather tights and bibs. Summer kit is medium castelli bibs and small castelli jerseys. The jerseys are TIGHT in the chest and a little short, but not a big issue while wearing bibs.

Ive considered getting bib straps lengthened by a tailor in the past, its annoying but another option. Not sure what to do gor longer jerseys though.

6’5", 170lbs but small arms/shoulders. I’ll give a +1 to Castelli Aero in large (probably try a medium if you can find them in store). And Voler aero jerseys in Medium (the arms on their long sleeves are baggy).

I’m 6’2" (but with a relatively long torso) and 160 lbs (153ish race weight). My favourite jerseys are from MAAP and Etxeondo, mainly due to fit. I’ve had good luck with small/tall stuff (Zoot wetsuit, Roka trisuit) but haven’t encountered that sizing in cycling jerseys, so it’s typically just “small” for me.

Thanks for the advise all, I will probably try to buy something in the next week. I’ll make sure to update this after and in the future with what does and doesn’t fit.
