Before kid 1 my count was ok but motility was low, they told me to start taking vitamin C, boom, kid immediately after. I didn’t cut back on cycling but wasn’t spending a ton of time in the saddle anyway.
Thanks, but not totally sure what that paper has to do with cycling? Also a fair amount of rubbish in that article, not sure I trust anything from Charles Poliquin!
On the flip side I have found some info about pesticides reducing morphology selectively, so maybe my green salad addiction is to blame!
Playing librarian here … as your doctor or clinic should have your best advice … of course.
In my previous post I was suggesting that you are probably on the right track taking some time off … from endurance (bicycle) training … to improve your sperm count … using the evidence that links endurance training and lowered testosterone levels … and with sperm levels further linked to testosterone and LH production.
(It is interesting to note that testosterone supplementation suppresses sperm production … so that does not seem a likely solution.)
“There was a significant decrease in all parameters measured after four months of endurance training. Decreases in body composition parameters were 54% in percent body fat, 6% in fat free mass, and 13% in body mass index. **There was a dramatic 58% drop in testosterone, 60% drop in LH and 15% drop in FSH after four months of endurance training.” **
