Winter is coming in few months, I’m searching for trainer for my winter training. I’m not sure which is better and benefits me between Supermagento pro and Jetfluid pro. I would like to know your experience and feedback with these products, and feel free if you have better trainer than these products.
I have the Super Magneto and really like the 4 modes you can use to adjust your resistance level. I primarily use the interval mode and find it just right for pushing out the hard training levles. When I want to super spin to improve cadence I move the adjuster back to road level.
I have the fluid pro. Its alot more smoother and quieter then the magneto. The magneto tends to shake the whole apartment and be noisy.
Which supermagento or fluidpro will benefits for my winter training? I dont mind about noisy because I’m living by myself.
Supermagneto is really good! I used to work out at 6am and never had a problem with neighbors!
Go for it!
Fluid > Magnets, no matter what gizmo they put on it.
Go with the supermagneto. It is noticeable quieter than the jet fluid pro and provides you with more training options- easy, road, interval & mountain.
Here’s a pretty good overview of the difference between the two models (actually all modes) from competitive cyclist.

They say that the magneto is quieter than the fluid. Both would be great choices, but keep in mind that the magneto would never leak!
I’d go with the new lemond trainer. The one where you put your cassette onto a contraption rather than ratcheting your wheel onto a roller.
I bought the super magneto pro recently and after 10 training sessions the screw of the cam lever incl. one of the fixings of the metal guide sleeves at the end of the cam lever screw broke! The retailer told me that this is a problem that happened quiet often and the trainer was sent for repair to CycleOps. Now, I have to wait for at least two to three weeks to get the repaired trainer back.
Generally, I like that trainer, however, it looks that CycleOps has a construction problem here and they have to solve it.
Hmmm. I was all set to put the Fluid2 on my christmas list. One of the things I liked about it was there is (apparently) a calibrated relationship between speed and power. But now I see that the Supermagneto pro is 1. quieter and 2. has the pro frame which looks like an improvement. I don’t quite understand how the 4 resistance settings work (easy, road, interval and hill) or why that would be a benefit- as can’t you just shift to a higher gear to make it ‘harder’?
Is there a calibrated power curve for the Supermagneto?
Looks like EMS has the Supermagneto for $319, which isn’t much more expensive than TriSport’s sale price on the Fluid 2 ($305)- so essentially no price difference.
Which is better on providing a realistic feel?
I don’t know if this matters- but I’m a cycling weenie. FTP maybe 200w, with little to no sprinting strength. (my run and swim are good tho’. I just don’t ride enough)
Any more recent opinions on preference between these two trainers?

**wow. this thread is 3 years old! ** probably quite a few new models out there. FWIW - I bought the Cyclops Fluid 2. It’s been fine and works with Trainer Road well/consistently. I don’t find it noisy.
As it’s the only trainer I own, I don’t have any comparison info.
