I need to shorten my titanium aerobar extensions, will I need some kind of special hacksaw blade ?
See my buddy bunnyman’s site: http://biketestblog.blogspot.com/2005/10/aero-concepts-genesis-bars-update.html
A pipe-cutter is all you need. Just use a new blade.
You can use your teeth, but it takes time.
You will need several. Better to use a friction blade on a chop saw. Most meatal shops will have one (also muffler shops). Cutting by hand may take you till next season and give you tennis elbow in the process (depending on the thickness of the Ti).
That is exactly what I am cutting, I did not consider the bar ends not fitting in. I have spent long enough filing down the inside of the brake ends for the brake lever installation. Big mistake to buy the syntace levers.
I cut Ti all the time with a hacksaw. It cuts like butter if it is pure, but the less pure, the harder it is to cut. A pipe cutter does it too, but leaves the cut end crimped down a bit.
