I don’t know any history, but it doesn’t look like anything I would want to ride…
The zipp was a beam bike. They basically removed the shock absorbing beam and fused in some additional carbon to make a crazy carbon…thing. I would stay away.

If the modifications are somehow reversible without incurring any damage to the frame, purchasing it for that reason alone might have merit…
My question is, if the original owner considered the frame to exhibit too much flex, why didn’t he just replace it with one that was stiffer instead of modifying it to such an extreme??

Not sure why one would graft a top tube and seat stays to a beam bike…?
What a waste, it used to be a great looking Zipp 2001 in Nude Carbon too.

I almost purchased this frame but I was so pissed at whoever has done to this lovely piece of artwork. I contacted the seller and he said some guys in Australia did the carbon to it and it was suppose to be permanent. I analyzed the photos carefully. As soon as I decided to bid on it, it was too late. It ended around $300.
