Custom Stickers for Disc Wheel Cover

My cycling team is looking into getting 4 or 5 disc wheel covers (most likely from wheelbuildier.com) and potentially getting some custom stickers made for them. So I have a couple questions for the ST community.

  1. Has anyone done this, and if so, did it turn out ok?

  2. Are there any recommendations for a good place to get the stickers made?

  3. As long as the stickers are stuck on properly, there should be no aero disadvantage, yes?

Thanks all

ST’er Tai does custom stickers, and posts here all the time. Can’t remember his site address, but do a search for any post by him, and it’s in his signature line.

Tai’s website is taigraphx.com I think. check it out, he did a great job for me not too long ago.

Curious what did somethign like this end up costing? Did you have a design in mind? Once its on there will it stay on. It is on both sides. I’ve thought I’d like to do do something but just not sure what/

Thanks,
Barb

I’ve been trying to problem-solve this myself - because the wheel covers are concave, creating a sticker will be a bit of a challenge. Either it would have to be just a small shape (or a number of shapes) that are cut to size and stuck on the cover, or if you wanted a sticker to cover the entire cover, it could not be a perfectly flat sheet that just gets stuck on, but would instead have to have a “pie” slice out of it to match the cover shape.

It would be pretty cheap, and pretty easy to do though. Just take the design to any Kinkos (or any sign ship that can print on adhesive vinyl) and have it printed or a large piece.

And I can’t imagine it would adversely affect the wheel’s aerodynamics.

I don’t know what the material is, but I’ve not had any problems with it unsticking, and I’ve ridden them in some nasty conditions. The price he quoted me back in august was $7-$10 per sticker depending on number of colors, etc. You’d need 8 for a full wheelset (2 per side, 4 per wheel). I got a few extras too. Contact him, he’s super friendly and more than willing to talk things through.

Tai, without a doubt, does a great job.
Hopefully my pics will post, one inside, one outside…

I had three decals on each face of the wheel…I’m pretty sure the orginal decals had three on each side.
