Custom running/walking/hiking shoes

Hi Folks,
Actually posting this for mom, who doesn’t run, but who likes to walk, often on unpaved roads.
She’s had some problems with her pinky toe which don’t bother her when she’s barefoot, but which mean her foot doesn’t really fit into any shoes. (She lives in Vermont, so sandal season is limited).
Curious if people have any recs for how to get a pair of custom-made shoes she can walk in. She’s not that fashion-minded these days, and they’d be for walking around in both good weather and bad, though not in major snow.
Also would like to know if there are companies/makers to avoid.
Thanks!
-Charles

I’d look at Altra. While they are not custom, they have an extremely wide “natural” toebox.

Thanks. Kinda hoping on something custom though, esp. as it is only one foot.

There may be others, but the only custom maker I’m familiar with was the Hersey shoes from back in the '80s. The brand has now flowed through to: https://victorysportswear.net/ ; you may want to contact them.
