I don’t know about custom makers, but if you look into some of the spikes with flyknit uppers, they’re stretchy and form-fitting enough that they might be able to work for him. That may be more of a distance spike thing than a sprint spike thing though.

Seems to be an unfulfilled market opportunity for custom/bespoke track spikes. I thought we’d at least find a few custom makers to look at even if they were expensive but nada.

I cut expansion room in most uppers with a slit by the little toe. The older kinvara were really good for this. Don’t hesitate to remove parts of the insole as well. This has worked for me with old school XC track spikes, but never tried with carbon plated.
