Custom-made aero helmet visor

Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever heard of a firm that produces custom-made visors for aero helmets? I basically own a POC Cerebel but would love to get a visor that mimicks my Oakley Prizm sunglasses…

Happy to hear about any option you may have found for this!

Thanks

Mimics in what way?

I’d imagine a company like Oakley spends a decent amount of resources on R&D to get their lenses with the optics the way they are. I’m sure there’s other companies out there that can do it, but custom would probably be $$$$.

The contrast and clarity of the Prizm road lenses is stunning to me. I clearly miss it on Poc’s visors…

I guess it’s a bit pricey but I haven’t found any names, hence my question

Thanks

Why not just use the Oakley AR07? It has the prism lens you seek.

Oakley Aro 7 has a similar design and uses prizm road lenses

Yes that is an option but I’d like to know whether I can save some money by making a custom visor instead of switching helmets…

full custom for an actual prizm type visor isn’t going to save you any money, if anyone can do it… it would be very expensive to replicate that technology in a 1 off visor, and Oakley isn’t just forthcoming with sharing their tech.

Now if you just want a visor that “looks” sort of like a prizm lens… yeah that might be possible. Probably the best bet is to shop some aero visors from one of the Chinese sellers (ebay/aliexpress/etc) they make them in a ton of different finishes. Then you’re looking at some way to fasten it to the POC (assuming it’s roughly the same curvature/profile, which isn’t guaranteed) that’s probably your cheapest option.

Another option is to try to make your own visor… plenty of tutorials on that on the internet (it’s common for cosplay and also something people attempt for motorcycle helmets - googling either should find you some inspiration) but how good it will end up working… hmm

tl;dr - the cheapest/best option is the Oakley helmet if you want real Prizm tech.
