Custom Coast Guard Tri Kit by Louis Garneau

We’ve got a group put together to do a custom USCG tri ki by LG. The men’s outfit will be the Delfino Racer Top and Elite Pro Shorts. The women’s outfit is the Delfino Racer Tank and Elite Pro Shorts. Here’s the link to the Facebook group with all the order details: https://www.facebook.com/groups/183687905130053/

Coast Guard! Heck yeah…

Are you a coastie? Got any Coastie buddies that would be interested in adding to our group? Thanks!

Contact Ian King (iank on here), Brad Pigage, and Rachel Beckmann on FB. All (fast) coastlies that raced w/ us in the Armed Forces Tri Champs 2 weeks ago. I’m sure they’d be interested. They also had sweet jerseys and maybe shorts that might interest you.

Nope - from a family of Jar Heads…SEMPER FI!!!.. But, would certainly chip in for some Coast Guard gear.

Another CG mbr here. Add me to the list.

You guys rock! Thanks for the speedy responses from everyone! So, just to give you guys more info on how it works, Louis Garneau has minimums for custom orders. Their minimums work like this: minimum of 12 of the same item (for instance, 12 men’s jerseys) or a minimum of 18 mixed items (6 men’s jerseys, 6 women’s jerseys and 6 men’s shorts). Right now, I have interest from 5 men (i’m assuming you and Jookie are men, sorry if I’m wrong) and 2 women. I have a thread out there on facebook as well trying to drum up interest. Once I meet the minimum number of people interested, I’ll come up with a baseline design and modify it according to everyone’s comments. Thanks!

I love the fact that Marines always support Coasties. We did a custom order from LG a couple of years ago for USCG Tri Suits so they will probably still have the design. We also just did an order with Champ-sys and they are really nice. Contact Iknoweverything on here and he can give you more info on ordering from Champion Systems if you want.

The Tri team at the Academy currently is wearing a custom DeSoto top with plain black shorts. I believe it was around Jan/Feb when they placed their last order. They have a FB page that has some pic of them in action along with the proof info from DeSoto . Not sure when they will order again or who the new club president is, with it being summer the cadets are on leave or at summer training so the academy is ghost town.

My husband bought the USCGA jersey and its very thick and not very breathable. The material feels like a really thick knit swimsuit. That’s why we were trying to put together an order from LG. a lot of people wear them and everyone that wears them like them.

Awesome! I’m a former Coastie and a female… I’d be interested. I’ll pass the info on to a friend of mine that is a retired CMC in DC to see if he’s interested too…

Great! Thanks! Let me know!!

Male here. What’s the FB link? I’m sure I can find more folks at CG Island in Alameda, CA. Are you looking for a specific level of athlete? Got a bum knee just doing Aqua-bikes now days.

You want the link for the USCGA Triathlon club FB page? If so, here it is: http://m.facebook.com/cga.triathlon?id=150129428340183&refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fsearch&_rdr

I don’t know of your question about athletic level was directed to me or not. There are no requirements. If the jersey is something you think you’d enjoy,we’d love to add you to our order group.

Aloha:

Was referring to “I have a thread out there on facebook as well trying to drum up interest”, but thx for the other link.

Please add me to the order group.

Thx

Hi,
I’m not living near coast… but I love seeing those coast guards wearing such uniform, it gives them more attractions and courage in their professions.

I’m an ex-coastie and I already have a few Coast Guard Tri and cycling tops and way too much triathlon attire. But I’ll ask anyway, how much are the jerseys?
Also anyone racing the West Point Tri? I’ll be sporting the new very warm CG Academy Desoto top.

I didn’t mean an offense regarding our opinion on the CGA De Soto jersey. It just wasn’t our ideal material. We race in Houston and it gets HOT here, so the lighter and more breathable, the better. Once I get to my desk, I’ll post the prices.

I am looking at both Louis Garneau and Champion Systems. LG has a 12-18 minimum (12 of a single item, 18 of mix and match items, in 6 item multiples). Champion System has smaller minimum (5 and 10). Of course, there is a sliding scale depending on how many items you purchase.

Louis Garneau (All Elite Pro items, the same ones Crowie wears):

  • Jersey $79 (for 12 minimum) $72 (for 18 mix and match minimum)
  • Shorts $70 (for 12 minimum) $66 (for 18 mix and match minimum)

Champion Systems:

  • Apex Link Trip Top $68 (for 10 minimum) $102 (for 5 minimum)
  • Apex Blade Tri Shorts $80 (for 10 minimum) $120 (for 5 minimum)

Interest is building, so I’m hoping we can meet the 10 minimum for Champion System.

I will start working on a design for the jersey (as the interest for shorts is a little less) and probably start a FB page that I will link and you all can give me your feedback.

I also didn’t mean to knock the CGA Desoto top. It is good quality, but warm. For hot weather less is more. But as you can see in the photo, you can over do it.
