Curious about EPO

With all of the implications (moral and otherwise) where do these peole find doctors to give them EPO? Isn’t the physician guilty of a crime, or at least liable?

I could drive a mile and buy a crack rock, bag of fatties, some crystal or whatever at the local mall. You just have to find the right guy and ask around.

“Hey, any idea where to get some stuff man?”

A freind of a freind of mine (who actually used to be a pro cyclist) has to get biweekly injections of the stuff to stay alive. The hospital keeps pretty close tabs on the stuff, but i’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to bribe the overworked and underpaid nurse who gives him the shots.

Most pro cyclists go over to mexico to get their stuff, be it epo or whatever else.

You can buy it OTC in Mexico. I was down there last spring, working for a local pharmacutical company that wanted to launch a new product in Mexico. We spent a ton of time in Mexican pharmacies, and I finally asked one of the dudes if he sold EPO. I even told him I was a cyclist and heard it would make me faster. He said he sold it, and even explained to me how to use it. Scary!! Downside (other than death) was that it was pretty expensive. Like…need to win an IM to break even expensive.

Oh, and no I didn’t invest.

We have a 19 year old cat in renal failure with a low H&H that we give low dose(by human standards) EPO shots weekly. The vet offered to sell us a multidose vial or as we buy it in a TB syringe with a 10 lb cat dose. I suppose I could have bought the Costco size vial and had it for personal use.
Other than athletes no one is abusing EPO like narcotics or other control drugs. G
