Creating course on CT

I’m thinking of IM TX and have a CT. Any way to build the bike course on CT pro?

There is a free piece of software on their website called course creator http://www.computrainer.com/dnloads/TopoGPSsetup.exe

You can create a course from a Garmin GPX FIle.

FOr some reason creating a 3dc file doesn’t always work, so I create a CRS file and import that.

or you can go here and download it http://www.computrainer.com/rm_inc/courses/3dc.htm

Last I looked, it wasnt there. Thank you perfect!

If I don’t have access to the file, where to go? I’m trying to build Panama City Panama 70.3. Is there an idiots guy to getting started?

You want to find a file on garmin.
Connect.garmin.com
You need a login. It’s free. Once logged in, you can use the ‘explore’ link to search for something to narrow it down - say, bike rides in panama city 52-57 miles long around the date of the last race. You should find a few options. You can then check them out to compare the elevations etc and make a decision on which one you think was the best recording, then ‘export’ the gpx file (this might be the part that requires you to be logged in to see) and pick up the course creator tips above to convert it to a .crs file for computrainer. Pick crs - not 3dc.

Also you can use mapmyride to find an existing course or create one

You can use mapmyride to export, but unless you have a paid subscription it won’t export altitudes.

So you use this to assign elevation to GPS coordinates and it gives you a GPX file
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/elevation

You then use racermate’s tool to import the GPX file into a CRS file and away you go

1stbeaver got it working I believe.
