Go to Walgrens and get “Second Skin”.
There’s a clear bandage that has “sticky” only on the edges. The middle just covers your booboo. Keep it covered, it’ll heal from the inside. If it scabs over … scrape it off. Keep it soft and covered.
tried that stuff before, and never found it particularly effective.
Tegaderm (relatively easy to find) or better yet, duoderm.

Tegaderm…it can even be “shingled” to cover over injuries larger than the individual sheets. Just make sure that the adhesive edges are either on clean, dry skin or another sheet (if shingled).
If you do it right, you should be able to leave it on for a couple of days and even take showers with it on. If the wound is “weeping” significantly, “draw” a line of antibiotic ointment across the lower edge of the sheet (to prevent it from sticking there) and then tape a gauze pad at that “drain” you just created. It’s a LOT easier to just change that one gauze pad that’s NOT stuck to the wound

If you know anyone who works in a hospital they can get large sheets of it.
