Can you use a Shimano 105 Stages Crank on Ultegra Crankset? Of course assuming same length, etc. Just got new road bike and would like to be able to switch my Stages between tri and road bike, but road bike has Ultegra. Thanks for any information you can provide.
Yes, it will fit and work fine.
Yep, no problem. The only thing to keep in mind (any time you take off a pinch bolt-type crank like Shimano’s HollowTech2) is to tighten the bearing preload screw to about 2 N-m (hand tight for any tool that is about 2" diameter) and the two pinch bolts to 12-15 N-m (9-11 ft-lb), which is considerably higher than most think is adequate. With less, the crank arm bolts could loosen up.
