Craig Engels on no Strava and GPS watches

Plus of course racing and training. And his awesome locks

Love it, from a general observation but I would say the slower you are the more likely you are to use a GPS.

I use my gps watch to watch my pacing so I am not going too fast, plus to log all my data

Lemme guess…you are the exception to your observation, super fast and universally eschew GPS.

Anyways, thanks for the interview Hebert. Good read!!

Nice interview. Bummer that Nuguse’s injury wasn’t known about earlier so Craig could’ve taken his spot in the 1500

How tall is he and how much does he weigh??? Maybe 5’11" and 130-135??? He is very thin but I guess most pure runners are, except the 100/200 guys.

I am 6’2" and 180 pounds and in a pic next to him I look like a fatso. He is 6’0" tall and weighs around 140 I suspect.

Ah, thanks!!! From your pics, I figured you were more like 160 but you’re about my height and weight, though I’m a tad heavier at 186-187.

On my Instagram is a pic of me next to him on the day when he jumped over the fence. I was actually worried that he might get some groin sprain or other injury coming over that fence.

Sorry but I don’t do Instagram. Could you post on here??? How high is that fence, and did he hurdle it or use his arms or???

He used no hands (5’ tall wired fence) but used a log pile on my neighbor’s side to launch.

I bent over to be in the pic but we can see the weight difference. This morning I was 179

Interview with Craig starts at about 1h02m, it’s hilarious 🤣

Was that the Wake Forrest track in the pictures? My daughter toured the campus with a current soccer player and the track looks familiar.

Yes indeed
.

I added the track workout he did to the bottom of the interview, started with an easy 800 at 2:20
