Crack pipes, Valve Extenders, and the Lash

After reading the latest series on valve extenders and core replacement options in an inclusive society I’ve done some thinking, but yet, am still torn.

Dan says that all things being = deeper is better.

Hydrosloth says = ain’t no way I’m getting a wheel I can’t EASILY change flats on, or have to invest time

Right now I have two race wheel setups.

A) Discwheel cover & HED Trispoke

B) Planet X carbon-fairing 60s

(both are clinchers)

Neither of these setups require anything voodoo except for 80mm valve stems, which are expensive, but not tricky to work with.

My question is am I really losing that much time over a set of high end wheels such as ZIPP Firecrest 808s?

FYI: I am a MOP biker, 2:30 1/2, 5:30 IM

Comments? Ideas? Empathy? Scorn?

A) is comparable to Zipp FC 808’s. You really can’t do all that much better than a HED3/wheelcover…

B) B is almost certainly slower than A) or 808’s. Probably less than 1:00 slower over a 70.3 leg, but still slower.

So the disc cover and the tri spoke it is.

At least for this weekend in Oliver!

Are you serious? Does 2 of em reach more than 15 bucks?

Got myself a nice set zipps but I’m sure the money I put in doesn’t even get close to be reasonable faster over my planetX set.
Should have get PM instead I guess.

Since when are 2:30 and 5:30 MOP bike times???
