I have a crack pipe adapter to use with my wheelcover wheel. The stem adapter that the bike shop added (they missed the one I hd supplied for them to use) when they glued the tire on is different the ones I have. The diameter is wider & adapter isn’t wide enought to found on it. My specaialized pump idoes fit but its too bulky to fit with the wheel cover on. Do they mae different sizes or kind of crack pipe type adapters. I’l like to mot have to take the wheelcover off to pump my tub up for vinemna 70.3 with a 7:30 am start time.
Thanks,
Barb
I’m pretty sure that crack pipes are only made in one size. All the ones that I’ve ever seen are the same, made by Silca.
Geniune Innovations came out with a Microflate, the “NANO” whic is very small, works on regular wheels/tubes, but is nice because it also works on disc wheels fits in that disc wheel hole pretty well.
personally, i have a few of the silica disc adapter heads, and i 'shrink them ’ on a bench grinder. u could probably do the same with a dremel.
but basically i use a bench grinder to file/grind away the brass material on the bottom, top, all sides, edges…fits quite nicely once you take off a 1mm on each side. go too far, you ruin the adapter, which isnt the worst thing…cheap piece.
I use the Zipp adapter for my Zipp disc, but it doesn’t want to stay in place by itself and so pumping up the disc is a two person job. I have used the small Inovations CO2 inflater with out the adapter in the field when I got a flat on my disc and was very happy with that. Best of luck, Tim

Good to hear this works well. I’m picking one up tomorrow.
