Covering up cosmetic scratches

I think I’m less anal about my bike than some since I don’t actually care about a scratch here or there. I do mind when it’s a bunch. On the inside of my chainstay I have a bunch of scuffing from the chain I think just from times I’ve had a chain drop or twisted chain or who knows. It’s enough to annoy me since when I clean my bike it looks like crap.

What’s the best way to cover up these scuffs? My bike is a 2014 cervelo p2 so it’s that glossy white carbon fiber frame. I was think a high gloss white nail polish? Any other options?

Nail polish and touch up paint will look like poo.

Best option is to cover it with vinyl… either white, black, or maybe even faux CF. When the piece of vinyl gets ugly, just replace it again.

Nail polish works great for bike frame touch up paint. When I got a bright red Colnago road bike frame I took it to the beauty store and matched it up. I only needed it one time but it blended right in.

It’s worth a shot. If it looks like crap I’ll just throw some hockey tape on there or something. It’s on the inside of the chainstay so not really very visible to others.

Take the bike to the store with you and match it up

I have matte black paint on my frame, am I SOL for touch up? Has anyone tried using model paint from a hobby supply store?

Matt black nail polish is available apparently.

I’ll just ride my bike through CVS in my full tri kit

Rustoleum makes a touch up paint. It’s essentially in a nail polish like container. BUT it’s actual Rustoleum, oil based, durable paint. All offered gloss levels. I’ve only used white and black. Great for minor touchups. Never tried any other colord though!
-good luck!

Thanks. I’ll check it out.

The white nail polish worked out fine. Since the scuffs were on inside of chainstay I was not worried about it being perfect so I just got whatever high gloss white nail polish I could find. It looks good enough for me. It’s not perfectly smooth obviously compared to other side but I just wanted something to cover the scuffs which bothered the crap out of me every time I washed the bike.
