Anybody here deal with this condition? I have had it off and on for since 2001 and when I’m flared I cannot sleep. Seems not too bad during the day when I’m up and moving but at night and in the morning when I’m still it is painful. Any remedies that worked to lessen your symptoms?
When you say “flared” do you mean swollen or just more painful? How many joints are involved? What medications have you tried?

Had it about 20 years ago, it was hard to diagnose, one Dr thought it was lupus. Tried some prescription drugs like Naprosyn which didn’t work however the next one called Tolectin (sp) worked and cleared it in 3-4 days, it never came back. This was before the days of Celebrex and all the new AIs, it was so debilitating in the beginning that I couldn’t turn to look back when I was backing the car up.
As best as I can tell it was brought on by very hard breathing on bike workouts before I was in very good shape.
Have you tried manual therapy to mobilize the involved joints? The prolonged course of your discomfort suggests they may be hypomobile and/or subluxed.
