I am looking for new tires for my earocoach wheelset. I know that the corsa speed is very fragile, but is it usable to train with it when latex is used instead of a inner tire? Or is it a race only tire?
I wish it was more durable… I own at least 6 tires brand new. But after 3 years of trying to convince myself that they are even slightly durable… but I can promise you they are the least durable tire out there. The gp 5000 blows it away. It kills me to loose the wattage but I can’t risk it anymore. Side wall blow outside, and punctures galore. It’s been a nice few months on the gp 5000 and no punctures yet with more riding.

Couldn’t agree more. I now have roughly 35,000 miles on tubeless road tires, and I would guess that breaks down as approximately 31,750 on Pro One, 3,000 on 5000TL, and 250 on Corsa Speeds (G1.0). I haven’t yet flatted on the 5000TLs, the almost 32K miles on the Pro Ones resulted in 3-4 flats that didn’t seal (over the course of 3 years), and the 250 miles on the Corsa Speeds… also resulted in 3-4 flats that didn’t seal.
The Corsa Speed roll fast, they feel amazing, the data don’t lie… but I’m nonetheless scared to actually ride them.
The 2.0 version is noticeably better than the 1,0. As long as you run it tubeless, with appropriate sealant, then I would ride them on any pavement that isn’t really bad. The last three races I have done where on really marginal pavement with chip-seal and frost cracks with no issues.
Once you get to the point of potholes and lots of little rocks that could chop through the sidewall of any fast tire, you have to decide it you go a bomb-proof tire. I put the GP4000 in this category because that is what I use for road races with gravel sections. You have to be willing to gamble at least a little bit if you want to go fast.

Just so you all know I am born english speaking in the u.s. and actually kind of intelligent, haha!

Ditto.
OP, do a search on here. You will find some guys have raced with Corsa Speeds and had no issues, but most, like me, have had problems. I race on Continental Comp tubs now. My new BMC road bike actually came with the Corsa (not speed). I flatted the 3rd time I used it. Massive hole in the tyre, ride over. To be fair it was a screw. Next ride, another flat and also a big hole in the tyre, from what I don’t know. I used tube patches to repair the 2 holes in the tyre, but then bought Continental GP5000s instead. So the Corsas have been retired after 4 rides…
I haven’t had as much trouble as others here. Have done maybe 2 dozen or so 40K-type TTs and another couple dozen criteriums on 'em, no flats. No real trouble.
I don’t road race them, though, with my local road races being on pretty bad surfaces.

Second. I don’t think they are as fragile as some make them out to be. I’ve done loads of races—road, crit, and TT—on fairly rough roads, with only 1 sidewall puncture on a training ride. It was caused by some glass that would have flatted most tires. I’ve only ever set them up tubeless, on wide rims with relatively low pressures, so that’s all I could recommend.

Same boat here…
I have a 2.0 new that I’m afraid to put on my front wheel for a fall IM. I races the OG Supersonic front and back for years with no issue (well, except for a pothole in Los Cabos that ruined a disc and the tire/tube) and I am seriously just keeping my stash of SS for racing and sell the Speed 2.0

Isn’t that like saying your 1980s Lada is a great car because it never broke down? Your experience might be OK, but if 90% say the Corsa Speed has shit puncture protection, it has shit puncture protection, irrespective of what you experienced. Whats the point in reading product reviews? I never had a flat on my GP4000s in 2 years, but if everyone was moaning about getting flats on them, that’s the information I would relay to people. Even Vittoria don’t recommend it for anything other than short time trials on good roads.

Relax. The OP asked for forum feedback. People are giving feedback on their experience. The OP doesn’t need to be coddled. From the reviews and the feedback largely suggesting fragility here, he can probably figure out what he wants to do.

It’s ok I’m just bitter after my numerous flats on Corsa Speeds!
I must be one of the lucky few who have had no issues with them. I’ve even nailed a few potholes during races and come out unscathed. 2 years, no punctures.
…queue massive blow out this weekend at the next race ha.
I did almost all my road racing and even some training miles on the Corsa 1.0 last year. I never punctured / flatted. I rode them a bit this year and never flatted.
17,000 miles year to date on my bike so I definitely get some equipment testing done. Including road race tires on gravel rides

I should add I have a teammate that has used them without much success. I have also had one go bad on me as in it got really wavy somehow. Never had a tire do that. I certainly shouldn’t leave the impression that these are bombproof as we all know better than that.
I have had great luck with the supersonic, but have punctured with bad luck with that in races many times over the years.
I am now at the point that I’m comfortable with tubeless gravel and MTB so it’s time for road. I’m never looking back. No more wire holes / tiny holes that end rides / races

There’s a few pros that have been using them in big races for a while now with no issues. Although Lange and a female pro both flatted in Frankfurt on Corsa Speeds. I wonder at what point would a pro change tyre? How many big A races are they doing a year, 3?
I have done some 4000 km on corsa speeds (first generation) front and back in training and racing. I have had one puncture on glass and replaced one rear tire due to wear. For me, I hav had less punctures with corsa speeds than continental SuperSonics.
Has there been any real world scientific tests regarding tire puncture resistance?
