Want something different. Try out the world’s hardest half ironman, Aurlandsfjellet Xtreme Triathlon AXTRI. http://axtri.no/Home.html
It is hard, but even better – it is in a beautiful part of Norway. Aurlandsfjellet has done a twist on the finishing t-shirt, your time decide the color the t-shirt.
The AXTRI Finisher shirts are revealed:
The color of your shirt will depend on your time…
Black: < 7 hours
Red: < 8 hours
Blue: < 9 hours
Green: < 10 hours
White: > 10 hours
Best looking finishers t-shirt I’ve seen. The quickest category of sub 7 hours (black t-shirt) might seem easy, but the course is so brutal I’m confident that a black Axtri t-shirt will be harder to earn than a black Norseman t-shirt. I hope to earn both in August but with Axtri just 1 week after Nxtri, I doubt I’ll be able to.
Thanks, haven’t done it yet though! Love hilly races, love offroad running. I’m a little worried Axtri will be too much of both. Trollveggen looks good but it’s quite a long way to come for a “sprint” race ;o)
I did a do-it-yourself training camp for Norseman in 2009 and ran all the way from Rjukan to the top of Gaustatoppen. Hard but perfectly possible. The tricky thing is doing that after the other 130 miles.
