Convert ant+ sensor to polar watch

has anyone ever tried to do this? I have a speed concept with the ant+ sensor, but I like the polar watch. I was wondering if I could somehow switch the insides of the sensor to transmit to the polar watch. Please don’t try to talk me into a garmin.

Doubt it since they’re entirely different wireless protocols and hardware. It’d be nice if a simple firmware upgrade would make them compatible but I seriously don’t think that’s possible.

You could, perhaps, gut a polar sensor, and cut/solder the PCB to fit into the ANT+ housing but I haven’t seen that done yet.

That’s kind of along the lines I was thinking. (gutting them both) I was thinking just whatever transmitter they used would have to be swapped.

Which Polar watch do you have? Something along the lines of a S710-725, 625? The S Series are the compatible speed sensors that have screws to gain access to the inside. The S series speed and cad are no longer produced, so grab them if you find them

ROFL. The ANT+ sensor will transmit perfectly fine to the Polar. It’s the Polar that just doesn’t want to be bothered reading it. Save yourself a lot of agony and get something that communicates using the ANT+ protocol. There are plenty besides Garmin.

Nothing good. No ANT+ support, no microSD support. Overpriced pedal based PM system that only works with a CS600/CS600X (i.e. it’s W.I.N.D.) that lacks proper memory and doesn’t have a way to quickly download the data. Just for comparison a typical 3-4M file (4 - 6 hour ride) transfered from a microSD card takes 1 second. Transfering the full memory on my CS600 (256k) (max 3 hour ride) takes about 1 minute.

It’s really a shame. I do like Polar and have 4 of their products (710, CS600, RS800CX, accurex II), they are just too arrogant and don’t want to listen to their customers.

I have a RS800CX which I really like. I like the software and the running features. I would rather not have to spend another 400 bucks or clutter up my bike any more.
