I’m looking at getting new tires for my fiancee. She rides 650 wheels and I saw that these two were on sale. Which is better, the Continental GP 3000 or Hutchinson Carbon Comp Gold Elite?
Thanks,
Adam

From my own experience (I had both) the conti felt better in wet conditions and cornered better. The conti were also less puncture prone.
Between the Continental GP 3000 or Hutchinson Carbon Comp Gold Elite
I would go with the Continentals for the best all around tire of the two. They also have a zillion colors available. Can be had for about $35.
Hutchinsons are lighter, grippier, probably faster but more prone to puncture and will wear out faster.
My personal choice for clinchers is the Michelin Pro Race which can be had for about $35.

I have had no problems during the past 2.5 yrs using GP3000 (not the same set). I have heard that Hutchinson tires are softer and more flat prone but have no experience with them.

Can’t speak for the Hutchinsons but I’ve had very good luck with Conti GP3000’s. I think SuperGo had 650’s on sale pretty cheap (last week, anyway).
