I actually wondered about that when watching today. Hard to say as it was hard to judge the motorcycle distance.
I’m not all that sure that saying something now is such a good idea. Especially in view of the fact that he’s expected to “help” teammate Andy on Saturday’s stage. We’ll see how he does.

Indeed, TV cameras (all cameras, actually) have a tendency to compress distances, making objects that are farther away seem closer. Think of all the views you’ve seen from the finish cameras where it looks like the field is bearing down on someone, but they actually cross the line 15 seconds ahead or something like that. Besides, the motorcycles appeared to me to be absolutely necessary to keep the road open.
I didn’t see the motorcycles close to Contador at all. I think something helped Contador, but it wasn’t motorcycles : )
