Congratulations Chris J. McCormack!

It’s been a few years since he boldly stated he’d win this one. Now he finally has.
Congrats, mate.

He’s so smooth…maybe Norman’s luckier than he knows…

He looked awesome on the run.

And Olympic Gold Medalist Simon Whitfield is a winner today too. He won $100 in his bet with Tom Demerly on McCormack vs. Stadler.

Although, Tom can now walk around and say “I lost to Simon Whitfield” he just doesn’t need to specify what he lost, haha!

Great race Macca!

I think the bet was actually $200.

Wow, this is amazing. Big time congrats Macca! I think this is a race for the record books.

It was only doule or nothing if they had raced earlier in the year.

Congratulations to the Ausies from a fellow Ausie. I enjoyed the telecast on Ironman com. excepting the often frozen picture, but at least the comentary was continuous. Off for a run in the bush now, all inspired, then to settle in front of the tv to watch Casey Stoner and the other Ausies dominate the moto gp from Philip Island.

Don’t let these dropouts spoil the day. This is a huge part of the game getting through the event. Macca met the challenge and like all champions he has respect for the event and the past champions of the sport as well as the people in his life that put him in this positon. I think a huge part of this rivalary stems from the media and forum such as this one. All of the top athletes respect each other but still think they can beat the other one. Macca is just very honest about how he feels about his talent and lets everyone know it. With his past record in the sport validate those comments and now he wins the race that matters.

I am thrilled for Chris. I met him recently in Boulder while getting fitted on his new Specialized bike. He was all class, and even offered suggestions to me on tweaking my own bike after hearing my conversation with my fitter. I hope to congratulate him in person!

I believe the quote was that he would win it 6 times. He has a ways to go yet.

would you prefer British or Pommie wanker, both fit.

HUGE props to Macca on a deserved victory…but am I the only one who thought the last hour was a little anticlimatic? I mean, in the end he just made it look too easy, too smooth, no pressure…looked like he just cruised it in (although a 2:42 aint cruising!). Pretty dominant really…

Care to explain what I said to deserve your insults? I stated that Macca said he would win Hawaii 6 times, 1 down 6 to go what’s deserve insults in that? Now I’ll go and see what classy response you have send me it the other thread.

Big “CONGRATS” to Macca and Crowie for what was an awesome display of determination out there today. Proud to be an Aussie with such excellent results in both the mens and womens race.

Both Macca and Crowie smoked it on the run. Just imagine what their run times could have been if either were pushed. Bring on a Scott v Allen duel with these two :O)

It would be interesting to find out what times Macca and Crowie would be capable of in a stand alone marathon, say the Gold Coast marathon, which is a pretty flat and fast course, and much more favourable conditions. I would sugest sub 2.20.

I cant wait for the world to hear his speach. He IS a class act…

I was routing for Crowie, he has always conducted himself impeccably. I was intrigued to see how his run would be stepping up distance since the other recent converts from 70.3 have done so well and he proved me right. Good job.

Just wanted to put my two cents in. Chris you did an awesome job!!! I’m so proud of you. I was hoping that you’d win this year. Good job. Excellent. Put a smile on my face.
