Computrainer (2)

I just got a Computrainer. Can someone share their results with me on there computrainer. I want to see how out of shape I am. I did the ColumbiaTri 26 miles in 1 hour 18 mins avg watts 247 avg heart rate 142.

Well, I can tell you that 247 watts at an average heart rate of 142 is NOT out of shape. That is pretty darn good.

Thanks!

Don;t thank me dude, you did the workout! You will be flying by Spring.

If you want to compare yourself with others, you might have a look around at Performance Central:

That’s damn good! Did you have your weight set?

huh?

Power output can be inaccurate if your weight isn’t set correctly.

If you mean did I put my wieght down yes 208lbs. Is this what you mean?

Very cool! Like I said, that is damn good!

Power output can be inaccurate if your weight isn’t set correctly.

i think the power output would be accurate, but the ‘speed’ that any certain power output translates to would be inaccurate, particularly at an incline.

as far as power being accurate, that is a function of properly calibrating the unit before each workout.

Weight carries speed and in return alters power readings.

Weight carries speed and in return alters power readings.

what do you mean by weight carries speed? momentum? how does that change how much power is transferred from the tire to the resistance wheel?

i guess i was thinking that it just doesn’t matter what or who or how the wheel is getting turned. as it is turned, it reads how much power is turning it. in the basic handheld mode, there is no input for weight, so how would it know power without weight? but… if you had andre the giant turning 247 watts, that will produce a different speed than if shirley temple were generating 247 watts.

i’m not convinced i’m right… i just don’t understand your point. thanks.
