Compression socks?

There are bunch of them in medical supply store. The girl who works there is clueless as Paris Hilton. What is Anti Embolism sock? What’s the difference from regular compression socks? They both look like the same from outside the box.

“Anti embolism” socks or TED hose are generally about 12 mmHg in pressure. Normal venous compression stockings come in a variety of ways: knee high, thigh high, panty hose, arm, closed vs. open toe, etc. They come in several gradients of compression depending upon what is need, and generally in grades or classes (depending upon the manufacturer Juzo, Jobst, Sigvaris, Medi, etc.) from 1-4. I typicall Rx for 30-40 mmHg for example for people with venous insufficiency. People on this board that want to try these (it is the “new” thing right? LOL!) would want grade 1 or 2. If grade 1, then this is basically a cheap TED or anti embolism stocking. I would recommend the Medi brand light compression stockings since they are very shear/nice fabric and in decent colors instead of the industrial white TED hose or ugly/hot/itchy Jobst brown type.
