I saw a guy wearing compression socks at the airport today. I know that some recommend wearing them on long flights but with gym shorts?
Not cool unless you’re also rocking sandals with those socks. I’ve been known to wear such an outfit from time to time, much to my wife’s disappointment.
I agree. If your going to do it, be all in with sandals and a terry cloth headband
i put mine on in the plane, and take them off before landing if i am wearing anything other than long pants.
really, people you can live the whole hour or so on layover without them on, and your legs won’t fall off on race day, i promise. otherwise you are just showing off / acting like a dufus.
I did a 100k run thru the desert a couple years ago and on the way home I wore full Zoot compression recovery tights with a skirt over and Chaco sandals on the plane ride home. Sexxxxyyy…
Please remember that it is Chicago. Have you ever been to Soldier Field for a Bears game? The majority of the people in the parking lot wear blue and orange Zubaz pants with pride.

Compression wear should be encouraged in Chicagoland. At least it is current fashion and not circa 1980s.
(I say this as a proud Chicagoan)
PS - Chicago Bears 1985 Super Bowl team is the greatest football team of all time.

GAH! Damn you! (Die hard Patriots fan who cried at the end of that game)

I’m not a fan, but a team based in Florida would disagree.

I’ll offer an alternate reason. I don’t give a crap what people think. Compression is a pain in the ass to take on and off. Once it’s on, it stays on for the day.
Wow, Zubaz still exists? Awesome.

They’re actually making a comeback as late 80s/early 90s fashion has a moment.
Jams are back too!
Don’t you mean when it was over --like in the first quarter?
I cried too but it’s all ok now. The back-to-back champs 2004 Pats proved to be the best of all time.
i’d much rather look at some athlete in shorts and compression socks than all the slobs wearing oversized sweatpants and PJ bottoms at the airport.
As someone who is currently battling a blood clot sometimes you have to wear compression due to Doctor mandate. I have not been a compression person but plan on putting them on after every race and before every flight or long drive.
Let me give you a little travelling tip about the shorts on a plane

I’m in that camp too…got a couple funny looks last Sunday at the driving range with my compression socks on (bright pink), running shorts & an old race t-shirt on.
Maybe they were concerned I had on running shoes? Or maybe they were just really afraid of my golf skills…
Probably don’t give a rat-ass as long as they serve a purpose.
Coach Ditka wouldn’t wear compression socks.
