Competive cyclist 12 days of xmas, quarq sale

Havent seen anyone talking about this sale like past years…

Today is 40% off quarq power meters, FYI.

wow, for those in the market, thats a strong deal
.

Definitely. The deal on the Cannondale version is 50% off and was less expensive than the same product on Chainlove!

What model BB would I need for a new P3?

BB30 works with BBRight
.

last question,

the chainrings say 10-speed. Will that work with ultegra 11 speed?

11 speed chains only have a smaller external width. The internal width of the chain is the same from 10 to 11 speed.

so…yes?

I believe so. My bike shop told me an 11 speed Quark crank would work on my 10 speed Ultegra.

both of my 10spd quarqs are running 11spd systems
.

Funny. They are the same company. Have seen this happen a few times so I check both when looking at deals.

We operate eight online specialty stores – Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist, MotoSport, Dogfunk, Bergfreunde, SteepandCheap, WhiskeyMilitia, and Chainlove.

8 online websites, but same company?

Definitely. The deal on the Cannondale version is 50% off and was less expensive than the same product on Chainlove!

I saw the Chainlove quarq also. Is this the beginning of a trend? Can we expect the price of quarqs to drop in general?

I don’t know if the prices are coming down, but I asked if they’d planned any competitor trade in programs, or something like a Black Friday/holiday sale, and they said No. They mentioned that they previously discussed (internally) about a competitor trade-in program, but it never came to fruition.

Are you sure? I thought native BB30 (as in, Cannondale cranks for example) are too narrow - that BBRight is essentially BB30 on the drive-side, but wider on the NDS (PF30?). Rotor cranks on Cervelos are not “proper” BB30 in that sense.

I thought native BB30 (as in, Cannondale cranks for example) are too narrowThe Quarq 30mm spindle is longer than most BB30/PF30 spindles.

The Quarq Elsa BB30 retails for $1650, therefore the online sale price is actually a 26% discount…I still bought one (which was a grave error, as I am presently in the financial turmoil of house construction). Alas, I couldn’t wait, since I’ve been wanting to pull the trigger on this for a long time.

So now I need to drop more coin on a head unit, and was considering the Garmin Edge 500. I like the small size, and minimalist amount of bells and whistles. After a little research, I see that it doesn’t provide the left/right data…so it looks like that is off the table. Any other recommendations, as I hijack this thread?

The edge 500 does give left/right balance. It’s the model of pm that dictates whether you get said reading.

I got conflicting information on another website. Perhaps the 500 has been updated since said review? Anyone else know??

It was added in the v3.0 firmware update.
