Competitive Cyclist Fit Calculator

Has anyone used Competitive Cyclist’s Fit Calculator with success? After measuring several times, it tells me that my best fit would be a TT bike with a 49cm top tube and an 80-100mm stem. I was fit on my P3 by a F.I.S.T. specialist, and apparently, a 51cm top tube and 120 mm stem work just fine. The Fit Calculator also indicated that I would fit best on a road bike with a 37cm top tube. I DO NOT REPRESENT THE LOLLYPOP GUILD!!!

The road fitting was pretty spot on.
The tri fitting seems to be off- I am not sure what they are assuming for a seat angle in their top tube measurement. It recommended that I have about a 2cm LONGER top tube for my TT bike vs. my road bike. Hmm…

If you are a long term roadie it will usually predict your road position quite well - because it’s based on observing road racers.

For tri it is irrelevant

For me, both the mtb and road were spot on, vertually exact. For TT, it was way off…

Thanks for your interest in the Competitive Cyclist fit calculator. We’ve used all of our online fit calculators for years with great success and welcome you to send your input measurements to fit@competitivecyclist.com for review. The Tri/TT fit calculator was created with knowledge gained from years of observation, fitting, tinkering, product design, and influences includiing John Cobb and Dan Empfield.

Keep in mind that this is an online fit guide and an in person fitting session with an expert will produce the final results and reveal any unique flexibility and morphological needs that you may have. As most on this forum realize, Tri and TT fit require the most attention to detail for a variety of reasons including variations in aero bar pad stack and reach.

The road one was spot on for me, I built from the frame up and it’s like a glove. Thanks for hosting it.
