Just want to make sure I have not overlooked any options. I want to use compact rotor rings (52/36 or 50/34) and use a power meter. Is my only option to go with Powertap? I don’t see the above configuration for SRM or Quarq.
I was planning on going wireless as I like my Garmin 705. The thing that I don’t like with PT is that I need to buy new training and race wheels. I have a tought time finding any good deals on disc wheels with PT (ant+sport).
In all fairness, I sent my email to Quarq 10 min before my post so I doubt that I will see a reply before Monday nor do I expect a reply before then. I did not want to make it sound like I sent my email weeks ago and did not get a reply. Thanks again.
Don’t be so sure of not getting back something before Monday. Mieke is good at giving me $h*t and responding to my emails within a matter of hours. Only to have me take a few days to get back to her. And I’m talking about the two of us writing novela emails back and forth. She’s good.
Not sure on how much your willing to spend. I built my PT on a Velocity deep V. For races I add a cover. If I wasnt working on my degree I would go wireless with a hed60 or a quarq. When I bought my PT quarq didnt come out with a compact though. Without money clouding the topic. I would get a quarq and a ibike(shows tss) and a nice pair of 60/90s
Best bang for the buck is a wired powertap with a disc cover. Next best option would be the 850 dollar powertap hub. I bought my powertap new off of ebay then laced it up. I think it was 750 total. For me its great, I really do not need a fancy computer to go along with it. Im not worried about being wireless either. You use the extra money for a disc cover and a front race wheel.
