Hi all. Anyone got recommendations for a hotel in Colorado Springs that has a 25m (or reasonable sized) swimming pool? Failing that, experience of a hotel in close proximity to a public pool that is open for pre-work early morning swim sessions? I will be visiting for 12 days in July and I am training for IM Wales in September, so could really do with not missing almost 2 weeks of swimming.

I’m pretty sure Cheyenne mountain high school allows drop ins. Might be worth looking into. There should also be open water swimming at prospect lake at that time of year which is located right outside the heart of town. Last I heard it will be free to swim this year!
If you’re a YMCA member staying at a downtown hotel might be your best bet. Given that pool is small and usually fairly busy, but I’m also not familiar with the early morning crowd there. There really aren’t that many public pools with decent lap hours as far as I can tell. There is a good masters program at Pikes Peak Athletics with an early session I’m sure you could do a 2 week drop in with but that pool isn’t exactly near any good hotels.
Cheyenne Mountain Resort has a 50 meter pool open to guests for lap swimming.
If you want an elegant stay (and expensive), one of the nicest hotels in the U.S. is The Broadmoor, and it has a 2-lane 25y lap pool. As noted, Cheyenne Mt. Resort is also nice, and gives you access to an excellent fitness center and pool on its grounds.

I doubt work would spring for an ‘elegant’ hotel!

Nicest pool in the Colorado Springs is Pikes Peak Athletic Center, there is a master team and open lap times. Its not far from the the Colorado Springs Tech Center Marriot.
