Colnago Arte?

Can anyone give me a review of this bike http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/BI305C00-Colnago+Arte+Ultegra+Bike+2007.aspx ? I currently have my tri-bike and a 20 year old Dave Scott Centurion Ironman bike that I bought in college. Looking for something to ride instead of the tri-bike. My LBS is a Jenson shop and they have these on the floor. Thanks in advance.

It’s a bargain priced Colnago made in Taiwan. It is what it is, though at a decent price.

I realize it a Tiawan bike and also at the lower end of their product line. I’m looking more for and idea of a comparison of the Arte to similar priced bikes such as the Soloist, Felts, Treks, … or any other Ultegra road bike. On the floor, it sits next to a Lemond with similar components and features but at about $800 less. The fit is fine and I’m a 6 hr IM cyclist who does not sweat the small stuff like weight and vanity. I just want a bike with decent components that is reliable and not a piece of junk. I also ride some pretty steep hills and after a recent fork failure am a bit skiddish when it comes to product reliablility.

I ride a Colnago Dream B Stay, while I’ve never personally ridden one of these models, I’m sure it’s fine. Even though its manufactured in Taiwan, (which isn’t a bad thing, those guys churn out quality frames by the hundreds of thousands) the quality probably matches the soloist, treks and felts.

This bike should be fine. If you have any issues with the frame, your shop will take care of you. Components are components. If it fits and meets your needs, then go for it.

I like Colnago bikes. I like his approach to geometry. They handle nicely. Get the right size and I think you’ll be very happy. It has some nice components on it and the price is pretty good.

I’d make a crack about Asian components on an Italian bike, but it doesn’t seem appropo since the frame is made in Taiwan. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m a Colnago rider, too (Master B-Stay) and like the others, I’m a big fan of his frames. It looks like a nice bike, and you can’t beat the deal, IMHO. I say go for it.
