Hoping the ST hivemind can answer a quick question for me.
I haven’t bought a new TT seat in a few years. I love my cobb-55… but it’s breaking down and definitely time for a new one. I notice now as I’m looking to buy a new saddle, the Cobb brand is no more. I found this site: https://speedandcomfort.com/collections/jcob-triathlon-seats
Are these the same Cobb seats, rebranded? They have a ‘type 5’ that looks a lot like the cobb-55 i’m probably going to order. Curious about the backstory.

Glad you brought this to my attention. I have a Cobb 55 and think it is great. John Cobb has a video posted yesterday on FB Speed & Comfort about the J5 (new version of the 55) talking about some minor improvements.

They sent emails with their rebranding attempt a while back. Maybe a year or more.
Huh…I had been looking at the JOF 55 a long while back, but then couldn’t find it. My SMP T4, is OK, but maybe a hair narrower through the nose than I’d like – the two sides end up feeling kind of sharp-edged and firmer than they really are. The ISM saddle that came with my current bike is just all sorts of way-too-wide through the nose for me. The Cobb JOF 55/Type 5 should fall pretty midway between the two.
