this seems real basic, but where on the dropbars does one install a set of Syntace Streamliner aero bars. do you clip them on at the “bulge” - snugged up close to the stem?
seems if you put them off the “bulge” you run into conflicts with brake cabling …
thanks

You must connect them to the bulge. The rest of the bar is too narrow. Typically you put them right next to the stem.
THANKS FOR THE QUICK REPLY!
another question I have is - is there a way to install the clip-ons without chewing up the metal of the drop bars? or is that life with a clip-on set up?
It should only chew up the bars if you don’t attach them tightly, and they twist around as a result. You will get some minor scratching, but it is no big deal.
These bikes are not museum pieces. They are made to be ridden. I am only now getting compliments on my four year old triathlon bike. “Nice bike. That bike looks like it really gets ridden.”
I normally wrap a single layer of electrical tape where I put my clip ons . More tha one layer allows slipping no matter how tight you get the bars. This also doesn’t work well if your road bars are highly polished as you still get slipping. It works well with my 3T Zepp bars and Profile Jammers or Syntace C2s. I haven’t tried it with the Deda Clip Blacks I’ve ordered yet.
