Has anyone tried these?
I had them at Interbike
They were GREAT!

yeah, they are great. The cost factor not too bad when you figure one pack is like 2 gels, but still kinda pricey…the lemon lime ones to me tasted like margarita mix…
I love these! Sometimes you just get so sick of gels you want to puke. I need to take them with a little more water than I would a gel otherwise my stomach gets a upset.

mmmmm…I love them. I need a something a bit more solid for nutrition when I workout and these are great. I order them in bulk from rei.com and that’s the cheapest I’ve found.
I am going to offer a no vote. Always had a bit of stomach discomfort post bloc meal. Then I found InfinIT and all my gel/drink questions were answered. No more other junk for me.
I love them. The only draw back I found is when they get hot, they tend to stick in the package a little more. It takes a little longer to get them out when on the course.
Other than that, they are great
I used Clif bloks this weekend during an Iron-distance race here in Taiwan. I found them a magnificent way to add varierty to my bike nutrition program.
1 x Clif bar per/hr (250 cal)
3 x Clif bloks per/hr (100 cal)
sports drink and water.
The Bloks probably saved my day as by the 4th hr on the bike, the bars were just not going down. Just the thought of another bite would make me dry-reach. So I upped the Clif bloks to 6 per/hr (200 cal) and added a gel and sports drink. I then switched to gels for the last hr to prepare for the marathon.
The beauty of starting on the gels so late in the race was I wasn’t sick of them by the time the run started, so I could continue fueling on gels for the whole marathon.
I ran a 3:20 hr marathon so I was obviously pleased with how the nutrition strategy worked out.

Clif Bar will be coming out with 3 new flavors of Shot Bloks. Margarita with 3 X the sodium, Pina colada & Coke w/caffeine I will be going Kona IM with a bunch of samples. I will also be having a Margarita; pina colada party at LU LU’S the week of IM with new Shot Bloks samples to give out.
Best innovation in the energy food market in the past few years, in my opinion. I love them. My IM and 1/2IM run nutrition plan is to eat one every 10 minutes (so I get 200 cals of them per hour) along with coke and water and gatorade from the aid stations. This has worked perfectly at several races this season. I also recently got some of the new, caffinated flavors (cherry and orange). I used them on a couple of long runs and it seemed to work really well for me (I don’t drink any caffine regularly, so caffine seems to affect me more with I have it in training).
I will once again have a pocket full of them at IMFL in five weeks (!!).

i don’t really like them…not sure why…something about the consistency. The jelly belly sport beans on the other hand, those are nice and fun to eat, for training anyway…
I like them, too, but one time a chunk got stuck in my throat - in a place where water wouldn’t wash it down. Got up there where air from your nose meets the throat. Well, after snorting, grunting and making all sorts of disgusting noises, the only way it was going to come out was via snot rocket, which I did. Man, I didn’t know something that large could come out my nostril. I learned to now chew them more thoroughly and swallow with water.
I am going to offer a no vote. Always had a bit of stomach discomfort post bloc meal.
I’ll echo that.
Same here. Stomach doesn’t settle well after I eat them.
However, the cran-raz ones are tasty… too bad.
Where are you from??? They’ve been out in the grocery stores since last year. You didn’t have to go Interbike to get them…
Nope, don’t like them anymore, hard to open package on the bike. makes fingers sticky, nothing but sugar.
Yes, I love them.
But you can’t get them in Canada yet :>(
I had to smuggle some across the border from LP!
I’m a big fan. I have not used them for racing yet (been injured and just getting back). But have used them a lot in the morning before a workout. They are easy to eat on the go, and haven’t caused me any stomach issues.
yup they are awesome! Black Cherry with Caffeine. My personal favorite. The package is hard to open while riding but if you combine 2 or 3 bags and load up one bag and stick the in your unpopular fattie Bento box, that seems to work just fine…
I don’t have a bentobox that could be the problem.
They’re alright. A little overrated in my opinion. Many of the gummi products come fairly close to what Clif Blocks have to offer.
For example, run of the mill gummi bears from my local store have the same amount of carbs per serving, and have nearly the same mix of complex/sugar carb blend. They both have a tad of soduim, but neither have nearly what you need for a long race anyway. And generic gummi bears have a few grams of protein to boot. Plus they are way cheaper. You can get a half ound of bears for what you’d have to pay for a few packs of blox. If you’re looking for easy storage, nothing beats sliding peach and apple flavored gummi rings down your aero bars. Easy access, and the airflow keeps them from getting sticky.
Just stick 'em right on your top tube. That way, they’ll absorb the salt dripping out of you which you recover when you eat 'em.
