Clever Training Shutting Down?

Please note the use of the question mark - I don’t know anything, but curious if others do. I only raise the question because CT has recently increased discounts along with comments like “Everything Must Go,” the discounts seem to apply to brands that typically don’t allow discounts, and the number of SKUs offered on the site seems to be significantly reduced compared to their past inventory, i.e. their reduced inventory seems consistent with shutting down and not re-stocking items.

I was thinking the same thing. I know that Covid has affected everyone’s inventory but it seems like CT’s shelves are almost bare. Anyone have any inside knowledge?

I just got an email from them - “The end of an era: Clever Training is closing it’s doors”
.

Looks like our Spidey Sense was on to something. Just got the email.

BTW 30% off on everything right now, including brands that rarely see discounts like Wahoo and the new Wahoo Speedplay pedals (Aero and Nano seem to still be in stock, but not Zero).

That’s a bummer. Always good pricing and discounts although admittedly I haven’t bought anything from hem in almost 2 years (Dec. 2019 - Assioma Duo’s). I just logged into my account though to see if I had any unused points still - nope.

I just saw this email too. Stock is a little low but I picked up some Elite Arion Rollers for pretty cheap. They had a lot of bike lights, gps watches, etc.

Anyone else see anything good they still have in stock?

Are the Lezyne bike computers any good? Not much in the way of reviews of the current models (including DCR, as far as I can tell). I don’t ride outside much, but I do a few fondo-type of events where the ability to download a course and get turn-by-turn directions would be valuable. Right now I use my 920XT for this - small screen (wrist based) and only a breadcrumb trace to follow… CT has a few models still available…

Yeah, stock is pretty picked over already. They do still have Garmin Rally RK 100 and 200 pedals, as well as RS 100, probably because they aren’t listed under the “Power Meters Pedal” menu option. I found them by searching “Garmin.” There are lots of non-Garmin sports watches left, and Lezyne pumps.

I got a Rally RK 100 pedal set, a Lezyne floor pump, Lezyne pocket pump, and a Garmin Vivomove HR 3S hybrid watch for every day work wear (real dial face with basic smart functions; not really a sports watch) for $700 shipped.
