Cleaning your Wetsuit

Since I emailed QR 2 weeks ago about this and never got an email back, I figure someone here can help…

I have a QR Ultrafull that while I rinse it after every event, 2 years of body glide, salty sea water, and my sweaty ass its getting a little funky.

What kind of soap can I use to scrub this sucker out in the off season? Can I use a scrub brush on it or am I gonna destroy it? Washing machine?? Maybe???

You can buy wetsuit cleaning shampoos, I would suggest one of those.

Aquaseal make one, and I believe tri slide might have something as well.

Google wetsuit shampoo and you have plenty of hits on it.

Thanks

Cool thanks

They don’t sell it anymore, but you can probably find it online:

I would try a sponge or a brush with very soft bristles. Don’t you dare put that thing in the washing machine, or I’ma come smack you!

Front load washing machine on delicate and sport suds worked like a CHAMP on my Aquaman suit. It looks and smells brand new!

My local tri shop recommended baby shampoo as it will clean the suit, not harm the rubber, and not leave a residue (as long as you don’t go crazy with it.) Seems to work fine.
