What do you guys think what be the best regular (i.e nesley, ovaltine, etc) chocolate milk mix to use as a recovery drink.

Is there a Trader Joe’s near you? They sell an organic chocolate syrup. Use good milk.
I know Phelps used Carnation Instant Breakfast.
I hate to admit it but I like nestle. Has a good amount of vitamins. Don’t like trader joe’s. Of course it’s all personal.
Ovaltine is the choice for me. Carb Ratio is great. You can even mix in some whey if you want and its a good balance.

I also use Nestle. Have for the past 2o some years. Can’t stand the taste or plain milk, but I drink at least two a day with Nestle. Not sure if that is a good thing or not, but I love it.
I use skim milk powder,4 scoops per 800mls,1/2 teaspoon manuka honey,I use this when training and recovery,I have found it very cheap and effective and not hard on the stomach,I have tried many other products,many I feel are a waste of $$.

Have you tried the Silk brand soy chocolate milk? I love it but then again I don’t like regular milk
One of my favorites for trianing is chocolate Spiz - mixed with water.
hot chocolate mix w/ powdered milk- very creamy and thick.
Try Nutella on wheat for recovery- it’s like crack, without the scratching
Walmart’s purple can of powdered chocolate milk mix. Cant beat it. You only need like 1 1/2 tbs per large glass of milk. Lasts a while and is cheaper than Nestle or Ovaltine.
I don’t know about other brands but ovaltine adds food coloring. I presume this is to make it look more chocolaty but what a bunch of BS.
what about a glass of good ol’ chocolate milk.
i’ve put a frozen bottle of choc. milk in an isulated lunch bag
in my special needs bag at ironman…was slushy and cold…
totally hit the spot.
I am a CMA (chocolate milk addict).
One more vote for Nestle Quik. I also used carnation hot choc. this pre-season for longer workouts (tastes better in water than quik) and I don’t want to take milk on longer workouts for obvious reasons. For recovery, I add some pastuerized egg whites and some fruit.
I prefer strawberry Nesquik after training.
I love the Silk chocolate soy milk. I hardly drink regular chocolate milk any more as a result but when I do, I use the Hershey’s syrup.
I use the carnation stuff (Rich dark chocolate flavor) in the mornings at work with whole milk.
After big workouts or when I feel like it, I do buy a pint of Traders Point Creamery chocolate milk. It’s non-homogenized whole milk from a small dairy farm literally 20 minutes from my house.

I like the strawberry CIB before IM or any long bike.
