Chocolate Milk = Cocoa Krispies?

I love Chocolate Milk as a recovery drink. It tastes so much better than Endurox. But after my run this morning, I realized we were out of chocolate milk but that I had cocoa krispies to eat for breakfast. I started thinking, how is this much different from chocolate milk. The milk provides protein as well as vitamins and the cereal provides carbs and sugars in the cereal. I’m no nutritionist, so I’m looking for your help on this one.

FWIW, the chocolate milk has a relatively low glycemic index versus high for the Krispies. And then there’s the whole Snap, Crackle, and Pop thing.

Does it really matter, since they’re absolutely DELICIOUS and make DELICIOUS chocolate milk???

.

I’ve been thinking about trying chocolate milk as a recovery drink, but it has a ton of sugar in it. does that bother anyone?

Cocoa Pebbles make better chocolate milk. I don’t know which is healthier.

edit: I’m assuming the Cocoa Pebbles are worse since they taste better.

The biggest problem I see is you’re eating Cocoa Krispies instead of Cocoa Pebbles which everyone knows are soo much better.

Beat me to it!

Talk to my wife. She’s in charge of cereal. Just wondering if you get pretty much the same recovery benefit from such a food. Any takers?

No it does not bother anyone . . . a recovery drink or meal should have carbs (sugar) and protein. Endurox and chocolate milk both have 4:1 ratio which many believe is ideal for recovery.

I sugar laden drink is not ideal when you are sitting around. Getting some carbs after a hard or long workout is a good thing.

From the website:
"This experiment was actually designed as a joke, but the results were far from funny. The results were never published and similar studies have not been conducted. "

This is solid science.

Be my guest. You guys go on with your virtual breakfast party and your rat-killing cereal; and I’ll just quietly sit here in my outcast corner consuming my favorite brand of nutritious cardboard

is there high fructose corn syrup in the cocoa krispies?

wow, after all the cereal I’ve eaten; it’s surprising I’m still al

Cereal is about as bad a food as there is today. Even the best have little redeeming value. That said, recovery is the one time you can use junk without much issue.

cocoa krispies are magic. you put white milk in, eat a delicious cereal and magically you get chocloate milk at the end which is very delicious.

I’ve been a big supporter of the kroger store brand cocoa crispies in the bag for 8 years and counting. Almost every morning I eat them. Could it be I’m still impressed by their magical properties or could it be that that is the best cereal known to man? Either way, pour another bowl for breakfast.

i knew you would reply… it was writen in the sky… i can also tell everyone that does like them also!
