Anyone know current temp?
See below:

Assuming that’s correct it’s 77 degrees, looks like we’ll be wetsuit legal considering the temperature seems to be cooperating this week.
Thanks for the reply, I’m reading that as the air temp is 77 and the estimated water temp is 63…?
I haven’t been up there yet. But Lake Minnetonka was in the high 70s this weekend as well.
Can anyone comment on this race and what to expect? Course, average turnout, race organization, etc?
I’ve raced this the last 2/3 years and both have been right around 60F water temp on race day.
Last year was quite a bit choppier than two years before and made for a start full of churn.
I believe it was somewhere around 9000 participants over the whole weekend (including super sprint
and kids races). Solid expo, great organization throughout the weekend and on course.
Looking forward to heading back!
They are asking about Chisago Lakes, not Chicago…
Chisago lakes will be right on the border as far as wetsuit legal. Three years ago it was not, other years it has been. Expect about 1000 total athletes between the races. Smaller town, so parking is a bit of an issue race morning. Expect to walk a bit. I would comment on the courses but word is they changed a bit since I raced it. Good luck and have fun.
I would be really surprised if the water temp was that cold.
That estimate is most likely for Chicago and not Chisago Lakes. Lake Michigan is probably that cold…
Dutrirun posted on their facebook page that the water temp was 73 degrees on July 24 at 10am. Based on the weather the past few days it will most likely stay wetsuit legal
For anyone that’s a previous participant, what are the road conditions usually like? I haven’t ridden around the area yet since I just moved to the cities.
Thanks! Appreciate the info

Really good in the past for the most part at least. My fastest bike split is from that race. I’ve heard the course is a bit different now so take it with a grain of salt but I’d imagine it’s still pretty decent.

Was out there for the bike ride last weekend. They finished the construction at the one intersection so it’s back to the course it has been in years past. Great roads for the most part. Agree, very fast! Only one "real " hill coming back out of the valley around 30 miles. The road coming coming back in the last mile or so is a bit rough but other than that it’s very smooth.
