Chicken/rooster/cock's comb knee injection

Does anyone have experience with chicken/rooster/cock’s comb knee injections?

What was your experience and what is your advice? Thanks.

You might get a better response if your title had the trade name “Synvisc” in it.

Or Hyalgan, Euflexxa, Supartz. FWIW, Euflexxa is the only product not made from chicken/rooster combs. If you keep searching, you’ll get every answer on the spectrum - might as well give one a try if your ortho thinks you’re an appropriate candidate.

I tried Synvisc earlier this year – the three-shot series, not Synvisc One. Didn’t work for me, but there is no harm in trying (other than the cost, which is high). They do work for some.

44 y/o. Torn meniscus and degenerative cartilage in right knee. Aggravated knee a couple years ago during an adventure race, lot of knee pain. Had the Synvisc one shot. It worked for me. No noticable knee pain since. Have done one IM, a couple halfs, a bunch of sprints and a lot of running and riding since. But, I only ride and run on roads. No more trail running or mntn biking. Don’t want to chance aggravating it again.

Thanks, everyone
