The debate if Chicago Marathon race organizers provided enough water and gatorade will probably never be conclusive. I was not there but the pictures and youtube clips are compelling.

You weren’t there and these are your first two posts?
Is this the Swimfan/Paulo lovechild?
That’s good. The first picture shows guys that were probably trying to run 2:50 or better. And they blew up in the heat. Big deal. They’re front of the pack and had all the water they could have ever wanted. Or was 80,000 servings per mile not enough for them?
Try again.
Not really compelling…depends upon where you were in the race…posting under 4 hours for the race many of those runners reported plenty of water and all was fine. The 10 mile mark water station was ok for us and we managed to keep it stocked but had a lot of challenges keeping up with demand later in the race…that is slower runners coming through.
True Biased Oyster. I suppose it depends on where you were in the race. Thanks for volunteering that day in the heat.
i’ll bet i could get pics like that, or worse, at any IM. mabe a couple of people crawling, a few on the side of the road babbling. a full med tent. that’s ironman.
they went to chigao to do a marathon!
anybody remember what happened to that first guy that ran one back in greece a long time ago. maybe that should be the first clue.
