Chicago Loop Lap Swimming?

Hi,
I am at the Sheraton Towers this weekend for a conference and was wondering about lap swimming options close by. 25 yards/meters or 50 yards/meters and not too warm. Do folks know of any options? I checked the Swimmers Guide but that wasn’t helpful.

FFC Union Station. Pool is usually not crowded - its frequent to get your own lane.

Assuming you’re a USMS member, you might look at Chicago Masters swimming at the UIC pool. Drop in $10/day or $40/week, two long course workouts daily. It’s ~3miles from your hotel. www.chicagomasters.com/

There’s a 3-lane/25-yard pool at the LA Fitness in Streeterville (corner of Grand & McClurg). It’s never very busy and you can do a free 3-day trial membership if you’re not a member.

North Ave Beach (ladder 1 is on the south side) to Oak St Beach. Round trip is approx 1500m. Ladders all along the way so you can always get out if tired. Beautiful if you go at sunrise. Seriously beautiful. Water temp right now is mid 40s, so a touch chilly but totally doable with a water suit.

You won’t find a better pool in town.

There is an Equinox at 900 N. Michigan that, I think, has a drop in rate. Three lane pool (not sure of length, sorry), and not usually crowded.

can you change your hotel to the intercontinental or the Raddison Blu?

The intercontinental has a drop in rate for a beautiful 25yd pool from the 1920s.
The Radisson Blu (no drop in rate) has a 2 lane 25 meter pool indoors and an 4 lane 25 meter pool outdoors (although the outdoor pool won’t be open this time of year). Both are 2 blocks or less from the Sheraton (the Raddison blu is just accross the river). http://www.radissonblu.com/aquahotel-chicago/services

West Loop Athletic Club has a very nice pool that is 25 meters.
