Tom,

Seems unfair that you would post pictures of a bar that is unavailable for purchase yet, but I guess I would have done it if you didn’t. Have you tried it out yet?

I took them out of the box an hour ago. They will be on my bike by this time tomorrow. When they are available at retail they will be $449.99

My initial impression- bearing in mind I have not ridden these- is that they look absolutely beautiful.

Soooooo Tom - how much could someone be taking your Easton’s off of you for then???

Let us know how it goes. I hope to have ours tested soon enough.

I sold the Eastons quite some time ago. They are good bars, but that was then, this is now. These are lighter, MUCH less expensive and even cooler looking in my opinion.

On the FSA integrate bars - can the pads go any lower? Is there any way to get straight extensions?

Yes, the pads can go much lower. At this time there are no plans that I am aware of for straight extensions.

There was a prototype “S” bend extension shown covertly in the booth at Interbike but I was not cleared to that level.

They probably realize if they showed it to me it would wind up on here…

Doh! Frustrating after watching the CSC guys with straight extensions… I’m sure it’d be a cost saving for them in aluminum since they’d only have to make one size, then cut to fit a-la Hed.

One day someone will make a bar with straight extensions, no rise above the head tube, and forward swept flat base bars. One day. Then that day I’ll be on the phone begging with American bike shops to covertly export me a pair.

I bet we see the “S” bend revolution overtake the straight extension trend…

I’m sure S-Bends will be the new cool thing, they do work far better than the 45 degree upward bend that Profile et al. have been selling for years… but still.

PS. I’m currently riding a pair of shorty S-Bend frankenbars.

Hey Tom,

Is there any way you can throw those bars on the scale to see what they come in at? What size are they? Did you get any of the Aluminum flat extension ones in yet as well?

BR

one day is today bub. the guys name is herr walser and you better be calling switzerland if you want’em.

Arm pads are still too high. When will somebody make a proper bar with a proper armpad height?

Now. These arm pads can be run at any height, including totally bottomed out.

Here’s the weight:http://images.snapfish.com/33%3B<%3B97923232fp58%3Dot>2337%3D736%3D376%3DXROQDF>232367734%3A4%3A7ot1lsi
.

Tom, thats strange because all the CSC riders seemed to have the straight extensions (many with the cool third brake lever mounted on one extension).

Dave from VA

Totally not slated for production that I have been told. I doubt the third brake lever would ever be seen at retail because of the significant insurance ramifications. It would be difficult and expensive for a manufacturer/distributor to get liability coverage for such a product. OK to give to sponsored/released pros, but no good for the sue-happy public.

Darn, Those are so cool. I wonder when the s-bends will be available for the hed aerobar and what the price will be? The price on the visiontech’s are pretty good when you consider the stem is included; all you need are the cool brake levers (which cost about $80)

Dave from VA

Nice. But they look quite similiar to these ones eh Tom?.
