Anyone have recommendations on cheap sunglasses? Thoughts on Foster Grants for $20 in Rite Aid or these $30 NYS sunglasses at kiosks in the mall. I was always a ray ban person but sick of kids breaking and ruining them. What are my options?
Jackson nemesis safety glasses. They are ANSI rated and pretty light on your face. They are <$10 individually or you can buy a case and save big.
I really like the cheap sunglasses from Performance Bike. When they are on sale, like they are now, they are a steal. Good quality, and cheap enough I don’t feel bad about cleaning them with my jersey when cycling.
I can’t be the only one who thought.
ZZ Top
http://www.theclymb.com/ (painless registration required) sometimes has some good prices on bigger name sunglasses. Paid something like $40 for a perfectly nice pair of Smith Optics ones from there not too long ago. Note that they’re a deep discount clearance site so what they’ve got in stock at any one time can be a bit hit or miss.

And the choice is yours
cause they come in two classes.
Rhinestone shades and cheap sunglasses.
you can find some “knock off” Oakleys on aliexpress, $25. My brother has a pair, brought them to the local shade store and they couldn’t point out any differences.
My daughter has a pair of polarized NYS ones and they’re pretty nice, they do the job when she is on the water.
SafetyglassesUSA.com has dozens of options. My favorites come in several shades for under $3 (http://www.safetyglassesusa.com/s2520s.html). At that price point I don’t worry much about scratching or losing them. Besides, unlike a lot of expensive sunglasses these are actually certified as protective eyewear.

Nope, that was my first thought too

http://www.xx2i.com. They have some for $9.95
I think code XX2iRocks might get you 50% off until mid January.
I have no affiliation with xx2i or have any have thier products.
I have a couple of pairs of xx2i. Not too bad. Go to www.bit.ly/sun-survey. Take a 5 question survey and you will get a link to get a pair of glasses free but you pay $10 shipping. I got mine through a survey like this. Figured for $10 not a bad deal even if they suck. Somehow they are affiliated with Rudy Project north america because the invoice says Rudy Project at the top.
safest is a clear lense if you want to use fake ones…that way you know it’s not letting more light into your pupil than it should

Another vote for these if you want glasses for riding aero. They don’t have a frame on top to block your vision. At the price you don’t worry about transition area abuse.

+1. That looks like the Pyramex Ztek - lots of different lens colors and available in “Mini” sizes for smaller faces like mine. All versions under $3 each. Buy a bunch and never worry about where you last left your boutique shades.

Another +1 for safety glasses. I picked up a pair at my hardware store (for $2). My intention wasn’t to use them for cycling, but I tried them out one day, and they’ve been my favorite ever since.
Thank you for sharing this. I’m going to buy a bunch.
try home depot or lowes. 10bucks for dewalt saftey. work great and you can get polarized for 30.
Now, go out and get yourself some big black frames
With the glass so dark, they won’t even know your name
And the choice is up to you 'cause they come in two classes
Rhinestone shades or cheap sunglasses
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

Try Tifosi. Not sure if they would qualify as cheap but they certainly aren’t in the category of Oakley, Smith, or Rudy. They usually run $50-$60 but certain models can be found on sale in the $35 range.
