Cheap stuff from Rudy Project

My wife gave my a pair of PR shades for Christmas, and I see that I can get a something from their promo catalog for dirt cheap.

Anyone do this? How long did it take you to get the item? what did you get? Are you happy with it? Did anyone get the King Duffel?

Thanks.

I bought a helmet from their club sponsored stock and it took me only 5-6 days to get it. It’s an awesome deal.

promo stuff - is it online?

Yep.

I purchased glasses and got the backpack as a promo deal. Only $18.95. It took a couple of weeks to get it. Good pack for biking, not as a transition pack.

you got some ZRP gear…sweetest of sweetness dude. Their stuff and their PR people rock to high heaven. Never did get any of their promo stuff (but I’m going to check on that right now) but inexpensive might be a better word…nothing they make is cheap. I can honestly say everything I have that they make I love. Glasses are perfect for people with craniums large enough to hold their brains…like us.
What version did you get?

I got the Kalysos shades. I’ve used them a couple of times for running, my only complaint (which would apply to any sunglasses made) is that when I stop or slow down, due to the winter air and the heat I’m generating they tend to fog over.

I like them a lot though. Super comfortable, the lense quality can’t be beat, and definitely more stylin’ than my MEC specials (though you can’t beat the $6 cost on replacement lenses for MEC).

if you ever have problems let me know…me and RP…we’re like this *.

what do some rudy project budget frames go for???

which budget frames do you speak of?

I don’t know :0, my glasses just broke as I crashed into a branch on MTB and I need something new quick and cheap!

what’s the best all round lens to use…i’ve got a pair of ekynox that i got for cheap but was hoping to get another lens to go with them (I have the smoke lens right now). Just seems like the cost of the lens may be more than what I paid for the glasses.

I recommend getting someting in their metal frame lineup then…lol. You alright post crash?
mileader…best all round lens…likely racing red in my book. If you want to try a few out and see what works best for you let me know when we can hook up…I have all but one or two in their lens lineup

I agree on “Racing Red” as the best all round lense.

I may have to take you up on that lens tryout.

let me clarify…every lens in the Ekynox lineup. If you have them I have the lens

I figured as much…I’ll just try on your shades to get a sense of the lens colour 9if that’s okay with you). If I like it, I’ll buy the specific lens for the Kalyos.

did you do a search on the website to see which lenses are options for the Kaylos? Might narrow things down a bit. When you go to buy let me know too.

I’ll have to take you up on that offer…but not anytime soon as i’m not hitting the roads anytime soon…and racing red on the trainer would look kinda funny. But i will ask to try some out.

I don’t think there’s any way to completely eliminate fogging outdoors, but this stuff helps. I wear RP RB3s with rx insert, so I have to deal with 2 lenses fogging. Really sucks when I wear a face mask (it’s a balmy 2 deg F here today).

Thanks
