Chasing Legends Movie

Not sure if anyone has posted this previously but, has anyone seen Chasing Legends?

The trailer has got me hooked big-time. The website doesn;t seem to give much detail on the film tour, so I would like to know if anyone ‘in the know’ can tell me when the movie might be playing in Los Angeles?

Here’s the trailer:

(I do not work for these guys, but I do admire people who make feature films about professional road bike racing)
.

Bump.

9/30 NYC - Symphony Space
10/6 - Rochester, NY
10/14 - Baltimore, MD
10/28 - Marin County, CA
11/16 - San Francisco, CA

Don’t work for these guys either, but went to one of the recent screenings – it’s pretty awesome to see behind-the-scenes of the Tour.

Gripped films “off road to athens” and “24 hr solo”, are some of my favorite films ever, can’t wait to get my hands on this one.

Just saw the movie tonight, it was amazing. You really got to know more about some of the riders. I especially liked Jens Voigt’s commentary. My favourite line was when Jens talked about his crash during the decent when he was out cold for 5 minutes but lost his memory for 30 of it. He says “I’m glad I lost my memory for 30 minutes its time I don’t want to remember, it would be a lot of hurt.”

Also interesting to see some of the strategy and tactics as well as the pain felt by George Hincapie when Garmin attacked and he missed the yellow jersey by 5 seconds.

Does anyone know when it’s coming to DVD?

I am pretty sure its on DVD now. Check out Chasinglegends.com. It’s a phenomenal movie.

I especially liked Jens Voigt’s commentary

Just back in from watching Chasing Legends on the big screen. In a word - extraordinary. To see it all on the big screen was a real treat.

Voigt is great. Best line: “A legend is not someone who can hold 475 watts for a certain time - a legend is a guy who just keeps attacking and attacking and then keeps riding until his legs fall off” - or something like that.

If this is on the big screen at a theater near you GO SEE IT.

Seen the movie and its entertaining and a another good view of cycling and everything that goes on with and around it. Jens is just gold, he can make any movie from bad to great, not that this movie is bad.

And Jens should have his own show/commentary for the tour/ or something cause they stuff that comes out of his mouth is pure gold.

OMG! I was in the same theater as our own Steve Fleck!

Wow, Great movie - If you like cycling you will love this movie. It really captures the enormity of the event that is the Tour de France.

Movie is focused on HTC Columbia in the '09 tour so there is not too much on Contador (I was hoping to see more coverage of his Verbier performance) or some of the other big players. Thor Hushovd was shown more as a foil to Cav but they didn’t show him doing anything except coming in 2nd in sprints.

The interplay between Rolf Aldag and one of the other HTC tacticians (cant remember name) who would be in the team car was pretty entertaining

Cav comes off very well in this movie - a lot of press toward him seems pretty negative but his teammates really seem to like him.

Some awesome cinematography, but I wish some of the panoramic shots they did were slower as they seemed out of focus when they would show sweeping views of the alps, Monaco, whatever.

Overall was brilliant if you are a cycling fan - the music was awesome and some really great shots and insight to team dynamics & tactics.

I just bought it on DVD - it is very much available - blu ray has yet to come out.

I started watching it on the trainer, but too much talking for watching on the trainer.

I saw it in London at the premier, and I would say it was entertaining, but a huge HTC/Columbia Cavendish love fest and far too much of GH whinging endlessly about how he was shafted out of his entitled yellow jersey. The best bit was the dialogue between the DS’, those exchanges are classic.

I just purchased it, it wouldn’t ship to Canada until yesterday as it only premiered Tues.

got mine from Amazon.com
.

Saw it in the theatre on wednesday. Really enjoyed it.

Blu Ray available May 2011
.

If you are not up for spending $35 for the DVD, don’t watch the trailer…I just ordered it. Unreal…

Great movie.

I bought a copy and kinda forgot about it until it arrived today. My first thought was that I could watch it on my long (3 hr) trainer session this weekend. But since it’s only 90 mins, I’m wondering if it’s worth scheduling it in.

Is this a good movie to work out to? I haven’t seen it, so I don’t know how to schedule the workout. Or should I just watch it on the couch and let Coach Troy worry about my long ride?

i’ve got one for sale at my cost $40, incl shipping. send me a PM
