Change in cleat position - easier running off the bike?

Not sure if these two things are related, but today after I finished a 2 hour ride (with some fairly hard climbing) I went out for a short 3k run. Usually my legs feel like a ton of bricks, and I have no ‘run feel’ at all, but today I was running 4 min/k and right off the start I could ‘feel’ the pace, and I wasn’t working hard at all.

The only change I did was move my cleats from all the way forward to the middle. Could this possibily have an effect on my run?

edit: also no shin-muscle cramps!

Why were your cleats all the way forward to begin with? I can imagine all kinds of problems that would cause, not even considering your running.
