Challenge Roth Finalizes Elite Field

wasn’t Joe Skipper supposed to do it ?

Skipper wasn’t on the start list when it was paraded in March.

Strange. His IG is Roth heavy

On June 15th…Roth 3 weeks away

Skipper would be a solid addition to the Roth start list. I just hope he has a good day.
I can’t make @pk 's page show the elite/pro starters.

The page is divided into several forms with miniscrolls on the right. You have to scroll down all the way to the bottom of the first form, select “Bib number” in the “Order by” field and click on “search”.

With the pro men starting at 6:30 and pro women (below) at 6:37, and the wild disparity in ability levels inside pro fields, we could see some mingling.

To be fair (to the women) it’s really only Thek and Siffert who will get up among men going at similar speed. Philipp will lose some time on the swim so any men she catches on the bike she ought to blow past. Bartlett will lose time on the swim too so she’ll be 10+ minutes back from T1.
I hope the Roth leadership give the poor swimmer and average biker men clear direction on what behaviour is expected when the moto train (which won’t be giving Philipp any draft at all) hoves into view.

One thing for sure, the mens swim is going to be at ITU speeds and that huge group is going to splinter into grenade fragments. I wonder if Luis will be more suited to the 112 mile bike vs the 80k of the T100. Think he has a couple good 70.3’s back in the day, but could look good because of the field depth and sizes…Or something is off and that is why his debut this season has been less than stellar…

,and the big man himself…One of the truly nice guys of the sport.

Is Julie Derron doing Kona or is he confusing her with Nina. He did say Olympic silver medalist. @10mins.

Derron N already has starts for Kona and Marbella.
Derron J will not be racing Marbella but hopes to get a Kona slot when she races IM Vitoria (start list, against Haug and World Long Distance Champion Pierre) in 10 days, on debut. Have to think that if it goes well she’ll be up there Loevseth and Knibb on the only just second tier behind the five with previous podium experience (but NB Haug and Sodaro have to validate).
She said she planned to race Kona in an interview in Taupo last December.

Well he did say her actual name, and of course there was another silver medalist in there too. You never know what Sutton has up his sleeve, but if his girls show up to Kona, everyone had better be on notice. Unmatched track record among the womens fields for a couple decades+ now…

Quote of the year…“Jan is not a German…Jan is not a German”…I’ve been saying that for years.

Bring on Sunday…

OK so counting one of the Derron Kona chickens before they have hatched. He did make it sound like she was already qualified. Think Laura was a little but surprised to include her in the list of magnificent seven. But agree with Monty. Watch out!

I think Skipper officially took the biggest “not at all a fairing” front-end award from LCB.
I hope he has a good race, did not see good results from him for a while.
